Here comes another fashion forward London Fashion Week Spring 2011 collection afterTopshop UniqueSpring 2011 Collection which was treat for fashion lovers. It is Mary Katrantzou Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011 London Fashion Week show shown at a deserted Waterloo Station platform flaunted many digital print dresses in adorable colors that can woo any body’s heart.
It was designer’s first stand-alone show that was inspired by highly stylized seventies photography and graphic interior sets fashion shoots of Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin. Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011 Collection, entitled “Ceci n’est pas une chamber” that means “This Is Not A Room” presented Digital Print Dresses with Windows as central theme.
Hyper-real scenes printed on Mary Katrantzou digital print dresses with trailing skirts acting as curtains in vibrant hues of azure, pink, orange and black were just fantastic. Top looks of collection included a dress with upper half featuring a swimming pool in an L.A. house while lower portion of dress flaunting a view of the city by night from a balcony; a polished dining-table cutaway as a skirt with perspective of room behind rising up the bodice, wall sconces reconfigured as necklaces, mini-crinis echoed lampshades with dangling pendants of crystal.
It was like watching interior of room on dress with mini crinis as lampshades, whimsical vistas on the bodices of dresses; each dress showcased another surreal scene.Accessories such as gold candelabra necklaces, chandelier pendants, candlestick holders as necklaces and Christian Louboutin colorful wedges were also head turning and adding to beauty of collection were models’ minimal makeup with bright eye shadow and slicked back hairstyle.
